Video Howto: Encrypted DNS for Windows in under 4 minutes using DNSCrypt

Just to prove how fast it is to set up encrypted DNS, I pulled out an old Windows XP laptop and installed DNSCrypt from OpenDNS in under 4 minutes. It should be just as quick in Windows 2007 or 2008.

Prerequisite: an updated Microsoft Windows .NET Framework. The DNSCrypt installer will take care of it for you if necessary.

Internet Explorer can't play the video. IE users should Upgrade to Firefox or Chrome.

To follow along, here's how to set up your encrypted DNS as shown in the video:

1. Download DNSCrypt from the OpenDNS website
2. Run the installer

That's it! To play the video, just hit the play button in the lower right-hand corner.
